Delivery in Mabopane & Soshanguve
Phala's Eating House delivers traditional South African food, from mala mogodu and marapo to oxtail and tlhakhwana, to homes and workplaces around Mabopane and Soshanguve. Our deliveries are made by Spaceman Deliveries, our own delivery service, so your order goes straight from our pots in Block S to your door. This page explains where we deliver, what it costs, how to order and pay, and how to make sure you're dealing with the real Phala's and Spaceman.

Meet Spaceman Deliveries
Spaceman Deliveries is the delivery service behind Phala's orders. Because it's our own service rather than a third-party app, your order isn't passed between companies: it goes from our kitchen to a Spaceman driver to you, and one phone number reaches both the kitchen and delivery.
You'll recognise Spaceman by the black-and-white logo shown above: a cluster of shooting-star streaks above the words “space man.” with “DELIVERIES” underneath. These are its only official contact channels:

If a social media account, driver or “delivery company” can't be matched to this logo and these channels, it isn't us.
How to order delivery
- Choose your meals on our menu.
- Check out on this website. Enter your full address and a phone number the driver can reach you on, then choose the delivery option that matches where you are: Spaceman Delivery (Mabopane) or Spaceman Delivery (Soshanguve).
- We dish up your order hot from the pot and hand it to a Spaceman driver.
- Pay when it arrives if you chose cash on delivery, once your food is in front of you.

What a delivered meal costs
The delivery fee is charged once per order, not per plate, so ordering together saves money. Here are some popular orders with delivery included, using our menu prices in November 2026:

Help your driver find you
Street names and house numbers aren't always easy to follow in parts of Mabopane and Soshanguve, so a few extra details make a big difference:
- Add a landmark to your address, such as a nearby school, church, tuck shop or taxi stop.
- Include your block, extension or unit as well as your house or stand number.
- Keep your phone on and close by after ordering, in case the driver needs directions.
- Make sure someone is home to receive the food. If a delivery can't be completed because the address is wrong or nobody is available, a second delivery may cost extra (see our Shipping & Delivery Policy).
When your food arrives
- Check your order against your order confirmation while the driver is there, and tell them or us straight away if anything is missing or wrong.
- Something not right? Call 072 332 9351 with your order number and, if you can, a photo. Our refund policy explains how we handle missing or incorrect items.
- Eat it hot. Dishes cooked in gravy, like mala mogodu, oxtail and tlhakhwana, hold their heat well on the way to you, but they are at their best eaten straight away.

Order safely
We've had reports of people using names like Richway Deliveries and Loago taking money for Phala's orders and never delivering. They don't work for us. To stay safe:
- Order only on this website, by calling 072 332 9351, or in person at our Block S kitchen.
- If you chose cash on delivery, pay only the Spaceman Deliveries driver who brings the order you placed, once your food has arrived.
- Be wary of anyone asking you to send money upfront by e-wallet, EFT or airtime for a Phala's order or “special”.

Delivery questions
How much does delivery cost?
R40 to Mabopane and R50 to Soshanguve, charged once per order. The fee is shown at checkout before you confirm your order.
Do you deliver outside Mabopane and Soshanguve?
Our delivery area is Mabopane and Soshanguve. If you're not sure whether your street is covered, call 072 332 9351 before you order.
Is Spaceman Deliveries part of Phala's?
Yes. Spaceman Deliveries is our own delivery service, which is why it uses the same phone number as the restaurant.
How long will my delivery take?
It depends on how busy the kitchen is and where you are. Lunchtime and Sunday afternoons are our busiest times, so ordering a little earlier gets your food to you sooner. If your order is taking longer than expected, call us with your order number.
Can I pay the driver in cash?
Yes. Website orders can be paid cash on delivery. Having the right change ready helps your driver get to the next customer faster.
