How to Order from Phala's Kitchen Safely (and Catch Our Specials)

As more people order from Phala's Kitchen, we've also seen people trying to take advantage of our customers. This guide explains how to order from us safely, how delivery works, and where to find our specials first.

Warning: only use official Phala's Kitchen channels

We have received reports of delivery operators, including people using the names Richway Deliveries and Loago, taking money for Phala's Kitchen orders and never delivering the food. These operators do not work for us. Our deliveries are made only by Spaceman Deliveries, our own delivery service. If anyone else asks you to pay them for a Phala's order, do not pay, and be especially careful with anyone who wants money sent upfront by e-wallet, EFT or airtime before any food has arrived.

To be safe, order in one of these ways:

• On this website. Add your meals to the cart on our menu page and check out here. Your order comes straight to our kitchen, and you can pay cash on delivery when your food arrives.
• In person at 6233 Block S, Mabopane Unit S.
• By phone on 072 332 9351, the number also listed on our contact page.

Our official delivery service: Spaceman Deliveries

Spaceman Deliveries is Phala's own delivery service, and it shares our phone number, so you can always call us to check that a delivery is genuine. Its only official channels are:

This is the real Spaceman logo: black shooting-star streaks above the words “space man.” and “DELIVERIES”. Accounts or flyers using a different name or logo are not ours. If you chose cash on delivery, pay only the Spaceman driver who brings the order you placed, once your food is in front of you.

Where we deliver

We deliver around Mabopane and Soshanguve. Delivery costs R40 to Mabopane and R50 to Soshanguve, charged once per order. At checkout, choose the Spaceman Delivery option that matches your address; the fee is shown before you confirm, so there are no surprises. Our delivery page has the full details, including tips to help your driver find you.

How to get the best out of your order

• Order before the rush. Lunchtime and Sunday afternoons are our busiest times. Ordering a little earlier means a faster delivery.
• Feeding more people? The 3 mixed meat and 2 mixed meat plates give the best variety per rand, and you only pay one delivery fee per order.
• Extra hungry? Add extra meat and pap to your order.

Where to find our specials

We post deals, such as sharing plates and limited-time dishes, on our Instagram and Facebook pages first, and we write about bigger events here on the blog. If a “special” reaches you from an account that isn't ours and asks you to pay someone directly, treat it as a scam and contact us to check.
